I have not played golf in 39 years and now living in a retirement city, I thought this might be a time to restart. Since a new set of clubs were needed, it seemed Amazon was the place to start looking. When I ran across the Texan Power 2 set and read the description, that looked to be the set to get. The offer of all graphite shafts at the price stated was unbelievable. When I received the clubs, everything was packed well and in excellent shape. The next step was the driving range. With the over sized heads, these clubs are very forgiving; what a difference from four decades ago!!! I still cannot believe the quality, the long hitting ability of these clubs for the priced charged. To anyone else looking for a fabulous entry, or reentery set, hurry and get these ordered!!!

Good Set, Great Price

My girlfriend bought me these clubs for my birthday after I dropped some not to sneaky hints. So far they have worked wonderfully. I had been using my friend's father's clubs, and he was quite a bit taller then I am. I did some research and figured that these clubs would be a good fit for me and my game. I have taken them out to the driving range a few times, and played a few rounds with them, and my score automatically dropped 10 strokes!
In the set you get a 460cc driver with the square design. The larger face and square design make for a very forgiving club. I had abandoned the older driver I was using because I just could not control what the ball would do, but now I feel much more confident in my swing. I have topped the ball many times, and have not had it dent, so I am keeping my fingers crossed that the same thing doesn't happen to me as some of the other reviewers.
The 3 wood is also very forgiving, and easy to hit out of the fairway. I really like the 3/4 Hybrid so far, and it is definitely easier to hit then a 3 iron.
The irons in this set are great. The wide sole has really helped. I used to just blade the ball and send it rolling 25 yards. Now I can take a divot and get the ball really moving down the fairway.
The putter is a blade putter, and I have been able to make a few more putts with it then I had with the older equipment I was using.
Each club comes with great grips that feel very comfortable in your hands. The putter grip is designed differently and makes me feel like I can really control what I am trying to do.
The bag is decent. The pockets seem awkward. Some are to small, and one of them seems to offer no function at all as it opens from the bottom? However, the backpack straps and padding where the bag rests against your back are very comfortable. It has four longer dividers, and four one club dividers, with fabric running down the length of the longer dividers to keep your clubs from tangling in each other.
Over all the set has worked out better then I could have imagined. I first thought the set looked kind of cheap from the pictures, but they are much better looking in real life. Once you offset the package with a 5 wood, Sand Wedge, and Lob Wedge, you have a very good almost complete set that a beginning golfer will use for years to come. Thanks Texan! |
Decent beginners set for the price

I am a beginner and bought this set after renting clubs for a couple of times. For the price you pay, these are a really decent set of clubs. Being a beginner, I have 'topped' the ball several times with the driver - it's dented at the bottom, but still drives well. A friend of mine tried the set and he can hit pretty well with these clubs.
You get a driver, two fairway woods and one hybrid - all graphite shafts and titanium blend heads. The irons are all steel shafts. You get 5-PW and a putter. Note: No SW. The hybrid has been pretty good to me - I have been able to hit very well with it. I slice quite a bit, but that's my mistake and not the club's problem.
I would strongly recommend it for beginners as they are cheap and seem to take a bit of novice abuse. The only thing I didn't like was paying $25.00 for just standard shipping. Number of other vendors offer Free or <$10.00 shipping. |

| I bought these clubs online through Golf Outlet USA. I called and spoke with someone there and these were the clubs they recommended. I placed my order and they arrived very fast (3 days). Anyway, I take the driver out to the driving range and at the end of a bucket of balls the bottom of the driver was dented in like a coke can would be. I called the company, they said email photos and we will get it taken care of, I did so and got an email saying they were going to send a replacement driver but that the damage wasn't covered via warrenty. Their is a full year warrenty for breakage and defect. I am glad that they are sending a replacement but if they aren't going to fully stand behind their clubs (golf outlets owns this company) then I can't recommend them. Spend some money training your customer service people on how to write nice emails! |
